The new Decree 27-05-2020 determines the reopening of catering establishments to the public regardless of their type, category or capacity, allows meetings of up to a maximum of 10 people per table and regulates the necessary prevention and hygiene measures to be adopted.

The main prevention and hygiene measures that must be complied with are:

  • Prohibition of the incorporation of isolated workers for diagnosed COVID-19, with symptoms compatible with COVID-19 or in quarantine due to contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19.

  • Washing and disinfection of daily work clothes at 60º.

  • Use of the locker room by workers in a staggered manner to respect the distance of 1.50 m.

  • Training of workers in additional prevention and hygiene measures.

  • Distance between tables and between people of at least 1.50 m or use of partitions and a limit of 10 people per table.

These measures may be made more flexible in the event that the diners are from the same cohabitation unit.

The Decree also establishes hygiene and prevention measures in the provision of the terrace and dining room service such as minimizing contact between customer and employee, cleaning and disinfecting tables and chairs after each use, prioritizing single-use board games, avoid menus of common use and prohibition of buffets in self-service mode.

The Decree enters into force on June 1, 2020 and repeals any other provision of equal or lower rank that opposes it.

The content of this document has been drafted in strict accordance with the regulations in force on the day of its issuance. Any new regulation subject to publication in the BOPA, which modifies or expands its content, will entail the publication of a new news item that incorporates these new features.
